No referral is required to book an assessment or therapy session. Fees will vary depending on the type of assessment and duration of therapy sessions. Please contact us for any fee enquiries.
Medicare Rebates
To access Medicare rebates for speech therapy sessions, please consult your General Practitioner (GP) to check if your child is eligible for a valid care plan. This may include:
Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM) — may allow your child up to 5 Medicare-rebated therapy sessions.
Helping Children with Autism (HCWA) — children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder may be eligible for a referral from their paediatrician or psychiatrist for a Medicare-rebated assessment and up to 20 therapy sessions.
Private Health Fund
If your private health cover includes speech pathology, you may be able to claim a rebate for your child's assessment and/or therapy sessions.
Please contact your health insurance provider to confirm your eligibility.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The NDIS was established to support individuals with a range of disabilities by providing access to essential services such as speech therapy. Children and adults with developmental difficulties, disabilities, or a formal diagnosis may be eligible for NDIS-funded support. To check eligibility, please contact 1800 800 110 or visit www.ndis.gov.au.
Starlight Speech Pathology accept NDIS clients with self-managed or plan-managed funding.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice. This allows us time to offer the appointment to another family who may be waiting.
